ICE Celebrates 24 Years

The 1st September, 2012 marks 24 years for International Cargo Express, and what a journey it’s been!
Logistics are always complex but over our 24 years we have developed long-standing alliances and networks to build an infrastructure that makes our services reliable, flexible and consistent.

Ronald Spahr accepts the Best Network Office in Overall Performance 2009 Award – with Chris Waterson, FFSI CEO, and Francis Ng, FFSI Chairman.
Still entirely Australian owned, we are proud of our position as a mid-market company and the advantages it provides. Our independence allows us to be flexible and customise logistics solutions to our customers’ needs.
So, what’s changed in the last 24 years? Since our beginnings in Sydney in 1988, we have established offices in all Australian major cities, moved into logistics and, more recently, warehousing. In 2009 ICE’s founder, J. Peter Timmermann retired, paving the way for a management buyout with long standing managers purchasing ICE shares.
2009 was also the year we won Best Network Office in Overall Performance 2009 at the 29thAnnual FFSI Conference in Greece. Competing against companies with vast resources at their disposal & greater business potential owing to their geographical location made this a most gratifying win.
In 2011 we thought it was time the good people of NZ were able to enjoy our services so International Cargo NZ was born, a joint venture with Ellery Freight Services.
2012 sees us looking to the future, investigating new ways to serve our customers, while intent on keeping our core values at the forefront of everything we do: transparency; excellent communication; fast decisions; low staff turnover and motivated personnel.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for 24 great years and we look forward to many more.”
Ronald Spahr, Managing Director.
Happy Birthday to us!
