The P3 Network

Photo of a Maersk shipToday we are pleased to announce that we are establishing a new alliance with CMA and MSC, known as the P3 Network.
P3 will be an independently operated network consisting of 255 vessels with a total capacity of 2.6 million TEU serving the Asia-Europe, Transpacific, and Transatlantic (North Europe and Mediterranean) trades.
Maersk Line will contribute with more than 100 vessels, including the new Triple E class, equalling 1.1 million TEU of capacity to the alliance. It is expected that the P3 will commence operations in the second quarter of 2014.
With the P3 you benefit from unprecedented coverage, frequency, and stability
By joining our collective fleets across these trades we further elevate your experience in doing business with us as we couple our already existing customer charter with the improved product offering of the P3. We will continue to have fully independent sales, pricing, marketing, and customer service functions.
P3 is expected to be as good, if not better than our current network offering. You will benefit from the worlds largest most efficient vessels, the industry’s best assets, and an unmatched scope of service.
Our ongoing investment in being the easiest carrier to do business with continues
A unique feature of the P3 will be its Joint Vessel Operating Centre (JVOC), developed to ensure you receive the most value from the product offering.
The JVOC will manage the P3 network independent of the carriers meaning you get one product run by one team. This provides you with the consistency and stability you look for when selecting your ocean carrier.
We remain committed to being your carrier of choice
While the P3 is still in the early phases of development, with competition and other regulatory authorities’ approvals pending, we wanted to ensure you received the news of this alliance directly from us.
Once the approvals have been received more detailed information about the network will become available.
We recognise that you will have questions regarding P3. Our Sales and Customer Service teams are prepared to address as many of your inquires as possible. However, we won’t be able to answer all of the questions you have until the final details are released.
We are committed to providing you with complete, transparent, and timely information as it becomes available. As always, we value and appreciate your business and thank you for being our customer.
Yours sincerely,
Maersk Line.
